Sterling Crane has an Incident Prevention
Committee formed in 1987.

The SIRP Meeting is held on a monthly basis and is a forum for reviewing all Loss and Near Loss incidents, if any, their root causes and the corrective action taken. Branch Managers lead the forum and present on their monthly safety review which can include the safety event, the root cause and corrective actions from their investigations.

Participants Include:

  • Presidents

  • Vice Presidents

  • HS&E Members

  • Sterling Employees

Everyone is encouraged to interact with the respective Branch Manager on how they conducted their fact gathering, how they arrived at their conclusions and to suggest additional corrective actions. This method of review provides many opportunities for Sterling employees to learn from others and be better prepared to prevent similar events from occurring in their locations and/or jobsites.
